Monica Stout joined the Empire team in 2010, as a graphic designer. She works closely with our clients to make their visions reality and to create designs that produce results. Be it through a website design or a brochure, she always makes sure our client’s branding stays consistent and current. Monica’s program of choice is Adobe Illustrator, but she also has a strong fondness for both Photoshop and InDesign. She is always doing her best to make sure she knows what’s on trend in the advertising/marketing world and how to make it work for our clients.
Monica found her niche in graphic design shortly after graduating from the University of Houston with a BA in Communications with a focus in Public Relations. After realizing her passion for design, Monica went back to school for her Master’s in Digital Media Studies at the University of Houston Clear Lake. During her time at UHCL, Monica developed a strong love of photography. In addition to her graphic design courses, she took numerous photography courses to help supplement her passion for the art form. As her final master’s project, Monica wrote, illustrated and published Mandy’s Heart, a children’s book in which all the proceeds are being donated to Second Chance Pets. The book spreads the word about the importance of the capture, spay, neuter, release program and how to care for a litter of feral kittens. It is a subject that is very dear to her heart since it’s based on own her experience with her own feral cat, Miranda.
In her spare time, Monica, loves reading, photographing the great outdoors, and spending time with her friends, family and boyfriend. Monica also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Rini Rae and Miranda.
